Hat Supply for Hat Makers: Liners, Sweatbands and Trims in Bulk

Giusto Hat Supply started at a hat maker's bench, and most of what we sell still goes to other benches: milliners, western hat shops, repair counters and small brands that finish hats by hand. Here is what we stock for the trade, how bulk ordering works, and what to keep on the shelf so a repair never waits for a part.

Satin hat liners, by the piece or by the dozen

Every satin liner is about 4.75 inches tall and gathers at the top, so one size fits most fedora, cowboy, western and trilby crowns. Solid colours in black, white, cream, red, blue, green, gold, silver and purple cover stock work and repairs; prints in paisley, floral, animal, gothic, retro and western designs sell as an upgrade. Liners tuck in behind the sweatband, with a touch of glue optional on the hidden bottom edge. For a shop, a mixed box of solids and a few prints is the sensible first order.

Reeded leather sweatbands in stock and XXXL lengths

All our sweatbands come in regular and full grain leather, about 1.7 inches wide and just over 1 mm thick, and every one is reeded: a synthetic wire sewn into the bottom edge that keeps the band firm and the hat sitting level. A stock band of about 25 inches is cut and joined to fit sizes from 6 7/8 to about 7 5/8; the XXXL length covers 7 3/4 and up. Colours run from natural, nude and khaki through coffee, chestnut and chocolate to black, navy and red, plus rustic distressed finishes. Sets for production and sewn-to-size bands for shops that would rather not cut and join at the bench.

Ferrules, bows and woven size labels

Sweatband ferrules are the small metal tips that cap the cut ends of the reed at the join; keep a bag on the bench. Hat bows cover the seam at the back of the band. Woven size labels give a finished hat a proper size mark inside the crown. All three are small, cheap and the difference between a hat that looks factory finished and one that does not.

Custom logo liners for your own brand

Send us your logo and we print or foil it on a satin liner in your colour. Order the $15 mockup first, approve it, and it is credited to your liner order. Hat makers use them to brand their own hats; shops use them for house lines and gifts. Details and minimums are on the custom liners page.

How bulk ordering works

Order by the piece in the shop, or message Lupo with a list of products and quantities and we send a wholesale quote. Sets of sweatbands and custom logo bands are listed for production runs. Orders ship from New York; domestic shipping is by UPS or USPS, international by regular mail or UPS Worldwide Expedited, with duties and any UPS brokerage fee paid by the buyer before delivery.

A starter shelf for a repair counter

Ten black satin liners, five cream or white, a few prints, ten reeded sweatbands in the sizes you see most, a bag of ferrules, a dozen bows and a strip of size labels.
